Using a GoPro during surf sessions: Pro & Cons

Using a GoPro during your surf session, recording yourself while your surfing has its pros and cons. So here is a list of Pros and Cons that I have noticed while of surfing with my GoPro.

Pros: Recording or taking pictures while your in the water surfing can be fun and exciting. I love taking my GoPro Hero 4 Black with me. I like to be able to look back at myself and see how can I correct myself while surfing, so that I can always get better. The GoPro has a great range of options while your shooting, so you can get the best picture or video while shooting. You can also set the camera to start recording with just a push of a button.

Cons: Surfing with a GoPro can be kinda distracting. If your focus is on the GoPro and not the wave, it will distract you from the wave or other surfers. And you could miss the wave, go over the falls, or drop in on another surfer. You could also lose a GoPro, like my friend Luke, who had a GoPro until it broke of his surfboard mount and is now chilling at the bottom of the ocean. You can also look like a Kook while playing with it in the water.

So in the end, its all up to you! Personally I take my GoPro out with me if I know that I'm just going to play around in the water and on big wave days so I can brag to my friend Luke. Leave comments or stories about your experience with GoPro. Thanks
